ToTH Montessori Primary Classroom in 2017-18

ToTH Montessori is pleased to offer an authentic Montessori Primary Program for rising 3, 4 and 5-year olds in 2017-18. Our new Primary classroom will be upstairs in the Capper Community Center at 1000 5th Street SE, in the Capitol Riverfront/Navy Yard neighborhood in Washington, DC. Recess will be at the newly installed Joy Evans playground operated by DC Parks and Recreation. The children will be led by one MACTE-accredited, certified Lead Montessori teacher and one trained Montessori assistant.

We are committed to an authentic, mixed-aged Montessori community; we will enroll children who will be ages 3, 4 and 5 this fall and we balance for gender and age. We are currently enrolling 3, 4 and 5 year-olds for the 2017-18 school year.  (If your child will turn 5 years old during the school year, the birthday must be on or after October 1, 2017.). To apply for your child, click here.

More information on our program:

Hours of operation: Drop off will be from 8:15 to 8:45 and pick up will be between 2:45 and 3:00.

School lunch: School lunch will not be provided. Families should pack sugar free lunches for their children. Families will provide approved group snacks for the children on a rotational basis.

Aftercare: Although ToTH will not be offering aftercare at this time, nor programming during school breaks, we are committed to serving the needs of our community and, based on those needs may be able to offer aftercare or day-off camps in the future. For families that may need aftercare at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, we are making inquires with Van Ness Elementary School into whether there is availability for ToTH primary children in their aftercare program. We can share this information with our families once it becomes available later this summer.

Our calendar: The program will begin on August 28, 2017, and will otherwise follow our toddler program schedule (available here) with the exception of a fall break in October.

Please read our Primary Parent Handbook 2017-2018 for more detailed information about the program.
